Marina fire, Sept 26, 2009
not much to be said here except this:
This Goddamn fire has placed a very serious strain on Hockett's and mine...
personal, domestic and business life. WE DO NOT WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT MUCH
MORE!
Webmaster's note:
I removed my somewhat negative comments about IGH's FD. I incorrectly
assumed that IGH had a full-time fire department. With the huge mill rate
that Dakota County levies on businesses coupled with the money that IGH is
throwing around on installing stoplights on every intersection plus buying up
every bit of land for more parks, I was under the assumption IGH had a full-time
fire department, but it's all volunteer... meaning, every firefighter has
to get paged either at home or work and then go to the fire hall and leave from
there. With that thought in mind, IGH's response time to our fire at River
Grove Harbor was quite admirable, and I offer my apologies, it was a very
emotional time for me.

These are in pretty much chronological order, the earliest time stamp I
could find was 2:25 PM. The first photo was grabbed
within (roughly) 5 minutes of the call made to 911. I apologize for the
inverted photos, it's MUCH EASIER for you to correct than I. Please note
that in image #50, 4th from the end, that Rose's boat was almost totally gone
and according to the time stamp that was @ 2:39:42and image 8th from the end
showing Varlands boat just starting to go was stamped @ 2:31:37 ... by then I simply gave up in disgust. The last
image was stamped @ 5:07:05 with IGH guarding the ruins.
Here's another batch of photo's sent from my friends on the
river (yes, I have some friends)
